My Setup

Lots of folks ask me about my keyboard, work from home setup and gear I use for stream. Everything listed below I purchased with my own money and use everyday! To learn more about how I use everything, especially my keyboard, checkout an article I wrote for ZSA.

Manny's work from home setup and gear. Featuring dual monitor displays: vertical to the left, horizontal to the right. A split keyboard with mouse in the center and track pad to the left. A stream deck, webcam and 2 lights. A personal and work laptop on opposite ends.

Airpods Max

Product shots by Apple of Airpods Max facing from the front and the side profile

I decided to buy Airpods Max after my Sony XM4’s began to have issues with noise cancelling after 2 years. The sound quality and noise cancelling are the best I’ve ever heard. I love the all-day battery life and comfortable fit once they break in a little bit. Perfect for traveling, getting rid of airplane noise and pressure.

When my laptop is docked in clamshell mode I use a trackpad to the left of my keyboard or in the center between the 2 halves. Great for panning, scrolling and zooming large design files, web pages or documents.

My motorized sit/stand desk is an Autonomous frame only with an Ikea Karlby Kitchen countertop mounted on top. No matter how good the Herman Miller chairs are it’s still good to stand, I frequently adjust positions throughout the day.

Herman Miller Embody

The herman miller embody chair in a basic black color, facing forward.

Definitely the priciest piece of furniture I’ve bought. I tried it out in store and understood why. The base of the seat doesn’t bottom out, shapes to your but and kinda feels like your floating. I sit for long hours and it helps relieve discomfort in my hips. It’s also very wide and has adjustable thigh support for us longer legged folks!

An interesting 4k webcam with some AI-powered features. Beyond the gimble gimics it has the best picture quality I’ve ever seen from a webcam. I also like the privacy feature that physically turns the camera away automatically after not being in use for a few seconds.

As much as I like my vertical mouse it’s still too wierd to use for gaming. So for now I just switch back and forth depending on whether I’m gayming or casually browsing.

The best computer I’ve ever owned period (besides my first 2014 macbook). This laptop runs pretty much everything in my life including my stream, podcast, freelance work and more. It’s the most expensive thing in my house 😅 but worth every single penny.

A split keyboard I use for enhanced comfort and productivity. The keys are customized to my liking and workflow here’s my layout configuration. I also use it with a Moonlander platform to increase the tenting angle and stability. It’s also deepened my understanding of human-computer-interaction and the history of keyboards. For the mechanical keyboard nerds I use Gazzew Boba U4 silent tacticle switches.

Product shot of the Logitech MX Vertical featuring the near vertical angle, 2 mouse buttons, scroll wheel and the charging port on the bottom.

A mouse that positions your hand vertical-ish like a handshake for a neutral wrist position. It nearly matches the tent angle of my keyboard for maximum comfort and keeps my wrists from rotating too much.
